Quality of Life Improvements
Voice Channel Enhancements We’ve revamped our sound settings to give you more control over who you can hear and who can hear you. The new Voice Channel setting replaces the previous Voices and Voice Mode settings.
- People You Know: Hear and be heard only by people you follow within Meta Horizon. Others will sound like quiet, friendly background noise.
- Everyone: Open to hearing and being heard by everyone. If someone has their Voice Channel set to only hear people they know, their voice will sound filtered to you.
Adjust your Voice Channel settings by going to Settings > Sound and selecting your preferred option.
Improved Search + Discovery We’ve rolled out a new “All” default tab that returns both worlds and events when searching. Additionally, worlds will now appear in a new Worlds tab within the Horizon Store, making it easier to discover new experiences.
Web and Mobile Updates
- Made the sprint field-of-view transition more responsive.
- Reduced acceleration of the effect on web and mobile.
- Added a back button to the People profile in the Horizon menu.
- Introduced a new shelf of “Hangout Worlds” to the Horizon Feed on mobile.
Creator Updates
We’re rolling out an update making file-backed scripts the default for all new worlds. This change improves script usage, unlocks larger scripts, and enhances travel times. Check the Help Center for more information on the benefits and how to opt in or out.
Highlighted Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where sound effects didn’t play when claiming rewards in the Horizon menu.
- Resolved an issue with door information not loading in worlds with many doors.
- Fixed music playback issues when traveling between worlds on web and mobile.
- Corrected the World Volume slider in the Settings menu, which wasn’t functioning in certain worlds in VR.
- Addressed a rare issue causing script properties on spawned assets to be wired to the wrong objects.
- For file-backed scripts, line numbers in the scripting console and logs will now be correct.
Stay tuned for more updates, and enjoy the new features and improvements in Meta Horizon Worlds V171!
