Layout Utility App
Ever found yourself in a furniture store thinking, “I should’ve brought a tape measure”? With the new Layout utility app for Meta Quest, you can leave the tape measure at home—and skip the trip to the furniture store altogether.
Introducing Layout, a utility app that helps you visualise real-world items in your physical space. Measure that nook where you want to put a new loveseat, or simply place the virtual loveseat there and see how it fits. Check the height of your kitchen island before ordering those bar-height stools. Use the leveling tool to ensure your picture frames are perfectly horizontal.
Layout makes it easy to arrange and visualize potential changes to your room before you find yourself debating whether a 72-inch TV is too big—or maybe too small—for your space.
You’ll find Layout in your App Library once your Meta Quest headset updates to v68.
Performance Improvements
In addition to the Layout app, v68 brings a host of quality-of-life improvements that enhance the overall Meta Quest experience.
Faster App Downloads
We’ve made behind-the-scenes improvements to enable multiple games and apps to download simultaneously. A new “Downloads” tab in your Library lets you track and manage all of your installs from a single unified place.
Improved Graphic Performance
We’re releasing a new frame timing algorithm for OpenXR that improves overall frame rate and prediction latency on Meta Quest, resulting in reduced latency and stuttering in OpenXR apps.
Whether you’re gaming, exploring, or creating in VR, these updates enhance the Meta Quest experience across the board, making v68 feel snappier and more responsive than ever.
