OK, I’ll be totally honest from the start. I have not downloaded or played Cricket Rise: World Championship. The reason for that is…well…just look at the state of the screenshots they are using!

OMG, have they even seen a cricket wicket? Do they even know what grass looks like. What designer look at these photos and says, “Yes, that looks good to me”. It’s unbelievably bad. The wicket looks like a motorbike has just gone over it a few times and the grass, look nothing like any grass I’ve ever seen before.
I am currently designing a VR cricket game, so I am aware that it is tough, but I would never in a million years release something like this.
I’m hoping that they were just in a rush to get something online and hopefully it will be changed in an update, or they spent so much time developing a gold standard bat on ball physics engine they ran out of time to fix the graphics.
It’s screenshots like this that make me wonder whether I will actually waste my time and the £6.99 they are charging. THEY ARE CHARGING!!! Even if it was free, I would probably not bother download this poor looking VR cricket game. It looks like Cricket Rise: World Championship is another poor attempt at creating a VR cricket game.
It’s a real shame, because some of the features it is claiming to have sound interesting. It has the much requested career mode in VR cricket, that MIGHT be the only thing that makes me want to download it.
If I’m wrong and the gameplay is out of this world, I’ll happily eat humble pie. But I very much doubt it. I just don’t understand why anybody designing a VR cricket game would believe that cricket fans would be excited about downloading this terrible looking cricket game.
iB Cricket was released over 4 years ago and STILL nothing comes remotely close to beating it. It is still head and shoulders above any other VR cricket game by a very long way.
