From time to time, I need to update my iB Cricket recommended package. Whenever new tech is launched I feel it is important to be able to remain up to date as much as possible. So when the Meta Quest 3s was launched, I knew I would be asked if the Meta Quest 3s was suitable for iB Cricket.
The simple answer is ABSOLUTELY YES! It is the perfect VR headset to purchase right now if you want to start playing iB Cricket as seen on VR Cricket Guy Instagram and TikTok channels. So with this in mind I have decided to write an updated blog post about my full recommended iB Cricket package.
Meta Quest 3s – The VR Head Set
This is a no brainer. The Meta Quest 3s is a great way to get involved in not just iB Cricket, but in VR in general.
It has been released with a great affordable price (in VR terms) so it makes a fantastic purchase right now.
I actually use the Meta Quest 3 which is much more expensive, but if I had the choice between Meta Quest 3 or Meta Quest 3s, then I would choose the Meta Quest 3s. The main reason being the price!
Not only is this VR headset affordable, it also enables you to play all the latest VR games such as Batman Arkham Shadow and 100’s of other super immersive games.
Mint3D VR Cricket Bat
The Mint3D VR cricket bat is currently my VR bat of choice. It is compatible with the Meta Quest 3s and again is the best value for money.
You may have seen my using other bats on my social media videos, but they tend to be a little too heavy.
What you need to remember when playing VR cricket is that it you face deliveries much more frequently than in real life.
In my 2 years experience of playing VR cricket I find that using a heavier bat can cause your arms to ache after a while.
ALSO the lighter MINT3D bat will not damage your surroundings it you let go if it when playing a huge cover drive.
Kiwi K4 Boost Head Strap
I have to confess that it took a lot of persuading to purchase a separate head strap. I was more than happy with the standard Meta Quest head strap.
BUT, as soon as I used a Kiwi Designs head strap I felt to difference in comfort and balance immediately. Not only do you get the extra comfort, but you also get 3- 4 time extra playing time thanks to the external battery that is built in.
If you are looking to play a long cricket innings, then an external battery is a must buy.
Personally, I fully recommend the head strap. If not for the comfort, but the extra battery power is provides is worth the money by itself.
Downloading iB Cricket
You will need to have the head set purchased and you Meta account set up before you can download iB Cricket. Downloading is very simple indeed and usually take a few minutes to download. You are able to purchase the download on the Meta Store web site and it will be waiting for you in your apps and games library when you turn on your VR head set.

So just to clarify, to play iB Cricket I recommend the Meta Quest 3s, the Mint3d VR Cricket Bat and the Kiwi Designs Head Strap
It just leaves me to say that I hope you get as much enjoyment out of playing iB Cricket as I do. I have been playing the game since 2021 and I am still loving every minute of it. Every game feels different, it never gets boring and there is alway new challenge to conquer. Who knows, maybe I will get to try and beat you in the iB Cricket Expert League some day.
