Stuffed Two Foot Hero launches on Meta Quest and PC VR on Tuesday 3 November, and it might be the daftest premise of the month. You play a two-foot-tall teddy bear protecting a little girl from her nightmares, armed with homemade weapons. Fans have called it “Call of Duty meets Toy Story”, and the studio has happily run with that line. So here’s everything we know about STUFFED: Two Foot Hero before launch, from co-op and maps to the questions still left open.
When it goes live on the Meta Horizon Store, you can use my own code VRCGUY at checkout. It’s a simple way to support the channel, and it works on loads of other Quest games too.
What is Stuffed Two Foot Hero?
It’s a co-op wave shooter from Waving Bear Studio, published by Amplified Games. It follows the studio’s first Stuffed game, which was a flat-screen shooter. UploadVR notes that the original came out on Xbox in 2023 and Steam in 2024. This new one is built for VR from the ground up, and it was first shown at the VR Games Showcase in August.
The setup is simple. A girl is having nightmares, and you’re the teddy bear standing between her and the monsters. The Steam store page lists garden gnomes, rubber ducks, skeletons and shadow monsters among the enemies. That is a wonderfully odd mix. It also pitches the game as family-friendly, and the Meta Store rates it Everyone 10+ for fantasy violence.
Co-founder and character artist Lucy Earp said the team has been working on it for the last two years, according to the launch press release reported by Metaverse Watcher.
Stuffed Two Foot Hero co-op and game modes
This is a game made for playing with mates. According to the Steam page, you can play solo or team up online with up to four players. You can revive fallen teammates, and you’ll need to, because the waves get tougher as the night goes on.
Here’s what ships on launch day, based on the store page and press release:
- Six maps across three themes: House, Funfair and Castle.
- Ten waves per map, which makes up one “night”.
- Endless Mode, where you see how long you can survive.
- Twelve weapons, some returning from the first game.
- Defences, including barricades, traps and manual turrets.
- Progression for your bear and your weapons, plus unlockable outfits and fur.
The weapons are the fun bit
Everything is built from household junk. The press release mentions a submachine gun fuelled by laundry detergent and a decoy balloon with a crudely drawn face. You can dual-wield your favourites, reload by hand in VR and upgrade them at a weapon station. Master a weapon and you unlock exclusive skins for it.
Between waves, you repair and upgrade your defences. So it isn’t just about aiming well. Instead, you’ll need a bit of planning, especially in a full team of four.
Release date, headsets and price
The release date is 3 November on both Quest and Steam. However, a few details are still fuzzy, so here’s an honest rundown.
- Price: not announced yet. MIXED found no price on either store, and the Steam page still showed none on the morning of 1 November.
- Headsets: MIXED says the Meta listing names Quest 3 and Quest 3S. The earlier press release named Quest 2 and Quest 3. If you’re on a Quest 2, check the store page on launch day.
- Comfort: MIXED reports a moderate comfort rating on the Meta Store.
- PC VR: the Steam version is VR only. The minimum spec is modest, with an RTX 2060 and 16GB of RAM, because the game “was built to run on Meta Quest 3”.
Is there crossplay?
Steam lists cross-platform multiplayer as a feature. Still, as Metaverse Watcher points out, the developer hasn’t spelled out whether Quest and Steam players will share lobbies. So treat crossplay as likely but unconfirmed until launch day.
How does it compare with the first Stuffed?
The original was a flat-screen co-op shooter, so this is a big change of format. Moving to VR means you aim, reload and grab weapons with your own hands. That kind of switch usually means rethinking movement and comfort for headset players as well. The good news is that the core idea, small toys fighting big nightmares, translates naturally to VR. After all, being two feet tall makes every room feel huge when you’re standing in it.
Can you try it first?
Yes, if you have a PC VR setup. A free demo has been on Steam since 5 October. It includes one full map, online multiplayer, the full arsenal of weapons, some cosmetics and a taste of progression. There’s no standalone Quest demo announced, though, so Quest owners will have to wait for launch.
Who is it for?
On paper, this looks like a good pick for families and friend groups. The cartoon enemies and cuddly hero make it a gentler shooter than most. That said, it’s still a shooter, so it won’t suit everyone in the house.
It also fits a pattern I’ve noticed on this blog. Quirky, slightly bonkers Quest games tend to be the ones people search for. Scary Hot Dogs, the VR horror hot dog stand, is a good example. A teddy bear with a detergent gun is very much in that spirit.
If you want something with a bit more bite, EXOSHOCK is another four-player co-op shooter, and it has just entered Early Access on Quest 3. For a calmer family option, FISHY VR is a free Quest fishing hangout with co-op sea monsters.

What to watch next
On launch day, three things matter. First, the price. Second, whether Quest and PC players can actually join the same games. Third, whether Quest 2 owners are included. I’ll keep an eye on those. Meanwhile, my Meta Quest hub has more guides for Quest 3 and 3S owners, and you can browse the big AAA games on Meta Quest 3 if you fancy something bigger.
